Brief summary

Infective endocarditis is a well-studied condition. However, the intricacies and sequence of structural changes occurring during the infectious process typically revolve around the presence or absence of vegetations and abscesses. This article thoroughly examines the etiological factors, sequence of pathological processes, as well as the characteristics of development and progression of the infectious process in each of the heart valves. Additionally, it discusses the reasons for the rarity of destruction and formation of abscesses in the fibrous ring and paravalvular tissues in right-sided infective endocarditis. This analysis provides valuable information contributing to a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease. Considering the peculiarities of structural changes, we can anticipate disease progression, which is crucial for the optimal treatment of this patient cohort.

Key words

Staphylococcus aureus, infective endocarditis, acute valve destruction.
