Brief summary
The aim of the present study was the comparative analysis of toxicity and pharmacokinetics of two pharmacological substances based on phytosteroid ecdysterone from the Rhapodium carthamoides after the single intragastric administration to white outbred rats. Substances of the native plant steroid ecdysterone and the semisynthetic analog ecdysterone-22-undecanoate were studied. The quantitative analysis in animal whole blood and urine of the aim substances (ecdysterone-22-undecanoate, ecdysterone and epi-ecdysterone) was made by the method of high-performance liquid chromatography/mass-spectrometry. For chosen substances the pharmacological parameters were determined, and it was proved, that the absolute bioavailability of ecdysterone after the ecdysterone-22-undecanoate infusion was approximately 9,6-fold higher in comparison with the native ecdysterone administration. The low toxicity of chosen substances under the intragasric infusion for experimental animal was shown.
