Pathological changes of respiratory compartment of lung of mice by experimental avian influenza a/h5n1

Brief summary

Pathological changes of respiratory compartment of lung have been examined in three groups of outbread mice weithing 12-15 g which were intranasally infected with identical dose 10 LD50 of strains A/Chicken/Kurgan /05/2005, A/Duck/Kurgan /08/2005, A/Chicken/Suzdalka/Nov-11/2005. Six mice were used for each time point and each viruse. We revealed early development of the quickly progressing primary virus pneumonia, respiratory distress syndrome and the disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). All the strains caused expressed failure of haemodynamic and interstitial fibrosis of the lung tissue were detected.
