Experimental study of coagultion hemostasis in the development of an acute respiratory distress-syndrome of toxic etiology
State Scientific-research Test Institute of the Military Medicine, Russian Federation Defense Ministry, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Brief summary
In an experimental model of a lipopolysaccharide-induced acute respiratory distress-syndrome in rats the coagulation hemostasis during the first day following exposure has been studied. It has been found that acute respiratory distress-syndrome is accompanied by activation of extrinsic pathway of blood coagulation, hyperfibrinogenemia, elevated level of soluble fibrin monomer complexes and tendency to natural anticoagulant activity suppression. The findings are significant for justification of anticoagulant therapy of hemostatic disorders in acute respiratory distress-syndrome and for development of laboratory diagnostics methods.
