Complement system and immune complexes (IC) are major mediators of the immune response of organism that are able to interact with both cellular and humoral components of the immune recognition. Dysfunction of structural and functional features of these mediators is described in many mental disorders. In the present study the concentration of IC and hemolytic activity of complement classical pathway in the blood serum of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) patients were determined. The results obtained are compared with the norm. Our results indicate about hyperactivation of the complement classical pathway and overformation of IC, which are known as the activators of complement in PTSD.Complement system and immune complexes (IC) are major mediators of the immune response of organism that are able to interact with both cellular and humoral components of the immune recognition.
