Brief summary
The problem of the prevalence of chronic diseases of the hepatorenal system of chemical etiology is becoming increasingly important, due to the production characteristics of the chemical industry. Toxicological assessment of the nature of the impact of substances on organs and organ systems is a key preventive measure to prevent intoxication of the body of workers with industrial xenobiotics. The aim of the study was an experimental study of the toxic effects of p-chlorobenzophenone on the hepatorenal system in a subacute experiment. Materials and methods. In experiments, the toxic effects of p-chlorobenzophenone on the hepatorenal system were studied. The studies were carried out on outbred white rats. Using standard biochemical and morphological parameters, the effect of the substance on experimental animals in the subacute experiment was assessed. Serum indicators were analyzed: activity of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, concentration of total protein, urea, cholesterol, chloride ions, percentage of protein fractions. The content of protein and chloride ions was determined in the urine. Morphological studies were performed: the brain, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, spleen, stomach, pancreas and thyroid glands. The obtained results were processed using the Statistic 10.0 software package. Results. Changes in blood biochemical parameters were revealed: an increase in the activity of aminotransferases, an increase in the concentration of total protein, cholesterol, and urea in the blood serum. In rats in the process of seeding, changes in indicators characterizing the functional state of the kidneys were noted - an increase in spontaneous water diuresis, a decrease in the relative density of urine. A decrease in the total protein content in the urine was noted with an increase in the content of chlorine ions. Histological data confirm the development of the toxic effect of p-chlorobenzophenone on the hepatorenal system of animals exposed to poisoning. Limitations of the study. The study is limited to the study of the effects of p-chlorobenzophenone in experimental animals with subacute intragastric administration. In accordance with the directive documents on the protection of experimental animals, the number of in vivo experiments is limited which is connected with the dangers of animals and with public ethical views on in vivo experiments. Conclusion. When p-chlorobenzophenone enters the body, there is a risk of developing pathology, primarily of the hepatobiliary and urinary systems. Long-term intake of a xenobiotic, even in small doses, into the body of people in contact with it, can cause clinically significant organ damage. The information obtained as a result of the toxico-hygienic study of the biological effects of p-chlorobenzophenone is the basis for the development of methods for the treatment and prevention of possible intoxications, can be useful for solving a wide range of tasks fixed in the control and supervisory activities of Rospotrebnadzor, hygienic regulation and monitoring and will contribute to prevention and reduction of the level of diseases associated with exposure to harmful factors in the working environment.
