Evaluation of low dose effects of radiation on the human body using the epidemiological registry of ozyorsk population examined using computed tomography
Southern Urals Biophysics Institute, Russian Federation
Brief summary
The study describes the results of creating a radiation-epidemiological registry for assessing radiation risk as a result of exposure to low doses of diagnostic radiation from computed tomography among population of Ozyorsk. Retrospective cohort study has been performed with 25-years follow-up period. Based on the analysis of medical and dosimetric information of the ?CT Register? database, the incidence and mortality among those exposed to computed tomography were evaluated depending on the presence of modifying factors (gender, age, contact with occupational exposure, number of CT scans).
