Brief summary

The purpose of this work was a comparative study of stromal and molecular markers of fibroplastic processes in renal tubulointerstitium (TIN) in patients with IgA-nephropathy (IgAN) and membranous nephropathy (MN). For histopathological examination, the slides were colored by standard stains. Histopathological changes were assessed semi-quantitatively. Immunohistochemical study was performed using polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to α-SMA, CD34 (Dako). Statistical processing of the data was performed using standard software packages of applied statistical analysis (Statistica 8.0 for Windows). Standard methods of parametric and non-parametric statistics were used. The quantitative and semi-quantitative studies of pathological parameters in the groups of patients revealed the fact that sclerosis of the glomeruli was significantly more significant in patients with IgAN. While the quantity of smooth muscle cells in TIN (SMA+), peritubular capillaries (PTC) and the volume of the tubular epithelium were significantly less in comparison with patients with MN. Intra-group correlation analysis of patients with IgAN revealed reliable links between the volume of sclerosis of TIN and quantity of sclerotic glomeruli (r = 0.47, p <0.05), the coefficient of artery obstruction and quantity of PTC (r = -0, 37 p <0.05). Intra-group correlation analysis of patients with MN revealed significant links between the volume of epithelium and glomerulosclerosis (r = 0.47, p <0.05), quantity of smooth muscle cells in TIN and PTC (CD34 +) (r = -0.46 p <0.05). The obtained data indicates that some stromal and vascular markers of the kidney parenchyma documented the remodeling of the TIN blood flow in IgAN and MN. And its showed the relationship fibrotic processes in TIN with the activity of α-SMA-positive myofibroblasts.
