A new approach to the prevention of purulent-necrotic and septic complications in osteosynthesis of distal shin fractures.

Brief summary

A new approach to the prevention of purulent-necrotic and septic complications is presented through the use of a developed and anatomically sound new method of helping patients with distal shin fractures with soft tissue damage of varying degrees, which has a low trauma and makes it possible to reduce the number of implants during treatment. It allows for minimally invasive treatment of fractures of the distal shin, reducing the incidence of postoperative complications. The clinical application of the proposed method has shown its reliability and effectiveness. Materials and methods: In the period from 2016 to 2018, the developed treatment method was performed in 32 patients with various types of fractures of the distal leg region (pylon) and varying degrees of soft tissue damage. The functional outcome of the care was assessed at 6.24 and 36 months after the operation. Treatment results were studied using mixed type scales Ankle/Foot. The purpose of this work was to improve the results of treatment by means of a new approach to the prevention of purulent-necrotic and septic complications through the use of the developed new methods of osteosynthesis.
