Attempt of metabolic correction of osteopenia in experiment and clinic during the completion of ovulatory cycle

Brief summary
It was shown the possibility of reducing the involutional osteopenia at the completion of ovulatory cycle by using succinate-glutamate composition (SGK) without the application of hormone replacement therapy. In female mice, which were in early postreproductive period, 4 -week introduction to the diet of SGK in the daily dose 25 mg / kg significantly contributed to the increment of wet and dry weight of the femur and caused pronounced tendency to increase its ash weight. Though X-Ray densitometry indicators did not reveal clear changes of bone density. In 10 women in postmenopausal age of 2 weeks SGK treatment contributed to significant reduction of osteopenia in Ward zone.
