Brief summary

Drug X1 was prepared on the basis of natural metabolites - substrates of energy and plastic metabolism. It promotes activation of sexual function in intact male rats in chronic experiments. Analysis has showed that the mechanism of drug X1 action includes its effect on the dynamics of a number of neuronal and endocrine factors which regulate sexual function of male rats at the central level by changing a motivational (libido ), and at the peripheral copulative level (ejaculation). In chronic experiments it has revealed an increased dopaminergic synaptic activities in the structures of the limbic system, which contribute to the realization of sexual function in intact male rats. The tested drug X1 contributes to the realization of sexual function in examined animals due to a slight increase in the content of the main androgen - testosterone in intact male rats.

Key words

sexual function of male rats, neurotransmitter systems, dopamine, testosterone.
