Brief summary

Immunocytochemistry in its development fell far short of immunohistochemistry, which was due to inability to perform molecular studies on normal (conventional) smears. With the advent of liquid cytology, the problem ceased to exist. The most pressing issue for oncology, which can not be solved by other morphological methods, but cytological – it malignant pleuritis and ascitis. In the literature there are scattered reports on the decision point in the investigation of issues effusions, but no systematic approach to the diagnosis as in immunohistochemistry. The aim was to select panel of antibodies that effectively addresses the following issues: the differential diagnosis of the tumor with reactive changes, the diagnosis at a known location in history, the definition of the primary focus among the few without a known location. In this paper we have analyzed 30 malignant pleuritis and ascites . Selected panel of antibodies that solves our problem. Determination of the primary tumor without primary localization with immunocytochemistry requires further investigation.

Key words
